my best wasn't good enough.

Can eat is fu :)

So... after reading Ladyironchef and considering the many factors like time, location blablabla, we decided to go Dim Joy on a Wednesday after school :)

I remember I was so eggcited about it the whole day in school and I was feeling good that day because it was raining... ^^ One of the rare times that I can actually wear a long-sleeve top which is rather thick, teeheehee.

Apparently, we didn't do our research enough and it's only open @ 6pm :( We reached the place via cab from Outram Mrt at like 5:15 or 5:20pm :/ Actually... it's really like 3-5 min walking distance but we really don't know how to go. I tried to find our way there while doing research with the help of Google Map but really, my sense of direction... hahahaa, cab safer :)

Well, in order to kill time, we went to this shop called Kampung Days like a few shops down Dim Joy.

Being hungry but wanting to leave some space for Dim joy, I ordered toast.

And LimXf ordered this... Choco brownie thing? (can't remember the name, I suck!)

Okay, we do not recommend Kampung Days!
Prettaye LimXf.

Love & Hope goes together (:

Well, that's where we keep snapping pictures of our accessories and erh, did a camera review too, LOL. On the much debated Panasonic LX3 and Canon S90.
Conclusion: LX3 takes better pictures of objects but auto mode of people not that great.
S90 takes soft pictures of people but not that good with objects.
HAHAHA. FAILED REVIEW, HAHAHA.

I love the nostalgic mode of S90 just like how much I love LX3's pinhole :)

What to do when I look like tranny?

Finally 6pm and we are no doubt, the first(and second) customer on that shift! :)

The place is pretty small but quite cosy. I love the mirrors all around. Actually, I love the interior!
We were served pretty promptly after we went in and er, got Jasmine tea which we both totally adore, yay! I love teaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~

My hair look like a wig. Ok, it's my fringe that look like a chui wig.

Everything there seems to be made freshly? Like we can see the kitchen and all the food we got was piping hot. (and cold enough for the durian) They keep refilling our tea too ^^

I was trying to carry off that Chinese vampire look.
Anyway, totally love their own manuals on the chopstick cover to educate about chopstick etiquette.
But what to do when you use it this way for like 13 years already? :3

First up! Honey-syrup char siew bun!!! (Y)(Y)(Y)

I love it so much I can eat 2 more basket of it! (If I didn't take custard :( )

Next, Custard bun! (N)
Ok, you can't really trust us. I reckon you will like it if you're a fan of custard? We both discovered that we are not. It's like first bite, hmmmmmm, sweet, not bad. Next bun, wah sick of the taste already!
But it was money well spent cause now I know that I don't like custard :)

Dried scallop congee followed right behind! (Y)
We love it! It's those kinda slightly sticky porridge and the taste is just nice? (hahaha, review failed again)

 Egg tarts!
Hmm, it's slightly better than average but I reckon my expectation got higher after I had Portuguese egg tarts from Macau (L) I don't really like how the crisp falls off with every bite that I took.

Char siew sou!
It is on par with the honey-syrup char siew bun to me :) Thumbs up! (Y)(Y)(Y)

Last but not least, our dessert: Durian snow pearl~

I think that it will taste better without cream.

We ordered this off the list cause it wrote Thousand Layer Cake and the picture super tiny we can't even see how it really looks like and so when it come... we got a little shocked.
WHY IS IT YELLOW AND LOOK SO FAMILIAR?!
Got a bite of it and our doubts were verified. Yes, it is The Custard, yet again :(
We were kinda 95% full then and so we decided that we shall each have 1 in an attempt not to waste food and leave one in the basket. But very unexpectedly, the moment I agreed to this, mine dropped off from my chopsticks :(
So it's counted as the one-to-be-left-in-the-basket, sigh :(

TEEHEE, OUR FAV JASMINE TEA. SAME AS DING TAI FUNG~
I love how gracious we look when we have to get a sip of it.
It's of no choice, you get to be gracious when drinking tea :)

For once, I feel like we are taitai-s going for high tea ^^
It's really sooooo good to like have a slow-paced day :)

It was around 7plus when we finish having dinner and we made a wrong decision (did we?) to head over to Vivo's F21 cause everything that day was prettaye and looked good on us :(
It was a fun yet sinful day.

Conclusion: We cannot be food reviewer :( look at how ladyironchef blogged about Dim Joy, same place, same food but lol, tons of descriptions we never thought of! And I think one of the most important thing when doing a food review is price and I can't remember it now :(

BUT BUT BUT it's ok! It's only the first step (HAHAHA), we will try harder (HAHAHA). We will bring a notebook, note the price down, write little notes and remember the names of the dishes. HAHAHA.

We had a chance to review LelePot but stupid us was too occupied with our food (and sweat) that we couldn't bother. No, not even a single pic taken, was too chui :( Well, it was quite alright... but we are kinda half vegetarians, pretty selective. Like we prefer having golden mushrooms, tofu, hotdogs, crabmeats etc. rather than the dory fish, chicken fillet blabla. We are so weird :(

The fried wantons was awesome though :D
